Honolulu, Hawai’i – Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group is set to premiere their first resident production in Hawai’i, titled “‘Auana,” at the OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel in late 2024. This highly anticipated show promises to blend the artistry, acrobatics, and rich heritage of Hawai’i, offering a unique and immersive entertainment experience.

The title “‘Auana” translates to “wander” or “veer off the beaten path,” reflecting the show’s theme of embarking on a thrilling journey.
This production is a collaborative effort involving Cultural Creative Producer Dr. Aaron J. Salā, Director Neil Dorward, Costume Designer Manaola Yap, and Choreographer Kumu Hula Hiwa Vaughan.
Together, they have crafted a performance that seamlessly melds the poetic and nuanced Hawaiian worldview with Cirque du Soleil’s signature style of breathtaking acrobatics and dramatic storytelling.
“Our vision for ‘Auana faithfully connects us all to the islands of Hawai’i through innovative and engaging storytelling, using hula dance, music, comedy, and incredible acrobatic performances,” said Dorward.
“It is my hope that our audiences will be transported into a world where stories can live unconstrained by reality, honoring the land and the people of this place.”
A Celebration of Hawaiian Culture
‘Auana is inspired by the natural beauty and cultural richness of Hawai’i. The show’s fabric is woven with elements that personify the islands’ colors, textures, projections, and sounds, creating a spectacular celebration of Hawaiian culture.
This unique production promises to be a sensory feast, highlighting the talents of both international and local artists.
The debut of ‘Auana marks a significant addition to the legendary entertainment scene of Waikīkī, bringing a new wave of excitement to the heart of this iconic neighborhood. The show will be housed in a custom-designed, intimate theater space at the OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel, seating 784 guests.

Tickets for ‘Auana are now available for purchase at www.cirquedusoleil.com/auana for performances starting December 15, 2024. Prices start at $69 plus taxes and fees, with a special 30% kama‘aina discount available. ‘Auana will perform Wednesday through Sunday at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., with no performances on Monday and Tuesday. Show schedules are subject to change.
