Copper, zinc & steel etching plates
Copper, zinc, and steel are all commonly used materials for etching plates in printmaking. Each material has distinct characteristics that affect the etching process and the final result.
The choice of etching plate material depends on the artist’s preferences and the specific requirements of the artwork. Zinc Etching Plate – .064 Thickness, 18″ x 24″ Zinc is a harder metal compared to copper, which can make it more resistant to wear and tear during the printing process.
