  • Sun etching emulsion, such as Nobo Plain Paper Copier Transparency Film 20 Pack
  • Printing plate (e.g., copper, zinc, or plastic), such as Solar Etching Plate
  • UV exposure unit or sunlight … we will use the sun!
  • Inking tools and materials
  • Printing press
  • Etching and printmaking paper
  • Various printmaking tools (rollers, brushes, squeegees)
  • Drawing or design materials
  • Protective gear (gloves, aprons)
  • Cleaning supplies

Course Goals:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the sun etching process.
  • Create a series of sun etchings, experimenting with various techniques and styles.
  • Gain proficiency in inking and printing on different surfaces.
  • Understand safety measures and proper handling of materials.
