Meet the Frackers: AXP Energy company information

AXP Energy formerly known as Fremont Petroleum formerly known as Austin Exploration Limited. AXP Energy announced in March 2024 they sold its non-Colorado oil and gas assets, including projects in Tennessee, Eastern Kentucky, Virginia, and the Illinois Basin, to Mountain V Oil & Gas, Inc. and is primarily focused on operations in Colorado.

AXP Energy the 4th largest gas producer in Kentucky with the acquisition of Magnum Hunter Production adding more than 100,000 acres and 1300 wells to the companies portfolio. The acquisition of Trey Exploration in 2020 added 4600 acres and 119 wells in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.

In 2017 Austin Exploration Limited (formerly ASX:AKK) changed their name to Fremont Petroleum Corporation Limited (ASX:FPL) with a 10-for-1 “share consolidation” (investors got one share in Fremont for every 10 they bought in Austin).

Fremont Petroleum then listed as AXP Energy (ASX:AXP) and on the OTC Exchange (OTC:AUNXF).

The company primarily holds interests in oil and gas assets in the United States, including the Pathfinder Niobrara Shale Project in Colorado; the Birch Eagle Ford Project in Texas; the Armstrong project in Mississippi; and leases located in Sebree, Poole, Park City, and Magnolia, Kentucky.

As of June 30, 2012, the Company holds a 50% Joint Venture with Beach Energy PEL 105 is located approximately 60 kilometers north of Moomba in South Australia

The Company’s operations include Colorado Pathfinder Niobrara (USA), Texas Birch Eagle Ford (USA), Yolanda 1-H(USA), Park City (USA), Armstrong (USA), Kentucky Exploration LLC and Cooper Basin, PEL 105 (Australia).

Effective August 14, 2013, Austin Exploration Ltd acquired the Eagle Ford Shale Assets, Burleson, Texas, an oil and gas exploration and production property. It controls approximately 11,000 acres in the Niobrara Shale in Colorado and approximately 5,000 acres in the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas.

The company was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado, with an office in Melbourne.

Richard Ian Cottee was Non-Executive Independent Chairman of the Board of Austin Exploration, and former Managing Director of Queensland Gas Company (QGC) before their sale to British Gas BG Group.
