Tuesday, August 6: Isa Rodeo Hall of Fame BBQ Dinner

Join us in celebrating 65 years of rodeo history at the Isa Rodeo Hall of Fame BBQ Dinner. This special evening honors the pioneers and champions of the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo, with four new inductees being announced. It’s a night of reflection, recognition, and hearty Outback fare.

Wednesday, August 7: Isa Street Festival

Experience the party that only Mount Isa can throw! The Isa Street Festival is a true Outback celebration under a brilliant sunset, featuring 2024 Australian Idol winner Dylan Wright and his band, followed by Lucy Holmes with her 100% Kylie stage extravaganza. Thursday, August 8: Mount Isa Mines Indigenous Rodeo Championships

Celebrate the third year of the Mount Isa Mines Indigenous Rodeo Championships, where indigenous riders will set new records and be honored for their exceptional skills. This year includes the inaugural Ah One x Church Family Trans-Tasman Indigenous Rodeo Challenge.

Enjoy performances by Kasey Chambers and Christine Anu at the Rodeo Rock concert, and witness a Welcome to Country and cultural performance by the Sundowners Kalkutungu Dancers.

Don’t miss Dancing Dexter, the crowd-pleasing Bull Fighter, and admire the 2024 logo designed by 19-year-old Kalkadoon graphic artist Alysha Blackey, along with a special yidaki (didgeridoo) by Yirandali and Ngnwun artist Jessie Wilson.

Thursday, August 8 to Sunday, August 11: Mount Isa Mines Rodeo

The main event of the festival, the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo, features returning champions and new contenders in the Southern Hemisphere’s largest rodeo, the third largest in the world. The rodeo promises intense competition and electrifying performances.

Enjoy entertainment from Brad Cox, James Johnston, Zac & George, and the Hindley Street Country Club. Watch as 10 American Junior Bull Riders take on the Aussies in the Junior Bull Riding Championship.

On Saturday, don’t miss the Grand Entry honoring 65 years of Mount Isa Mines Rodeo legends. Indulge in the Bell and Moir Toyota Kalkadoon Bar and Grill, which sold out last year, and join the Shank Brothers for Australia’s largest, richest, and hottest Hot Wing Challenge and the new Rib Wrecker Challenge.

Sunday is Family Day, featuring free face painting, balloon makers, entertainment, and the Junior and Timed finals.
