Permaculture Institutes & Groups

Australia

Permaculture Australia is the national permaculture member based organisation in Australia. Permaculture Australia (PA) is a registered charity and environmental organisation responsible for the management of the Permafund grants round and continues to support Vocational Training in Permaculture. PA also maintains a directory of Permaculture Groups.

The Permaculture Educators Guild (PEG) was formed in 2014 to advance permaculture education in south-eastern Australia and beyond.

Tagari Publications are the publishers of the books ‘Permaculture One‘ and ‘Permaculture Two‘ and the famous book by Bill Mollison ‘Permaculture. A Design Handbook‘ covering all aspects of design: plants – animal forage systems, land and water strategies, financial strategies and much, much more. Amazon has more permaculture books by Bill Mollison.

Permaculture Research Institute run by Geoff Lawson. When Bill Mollison decided to leave Lismore and return to Tasmania, he entrusted the running of Mollison’s Permaculture Institute located near Lismore to Geoff Lawson, but problems with the conservative council over car parking, etc encouraged Geoff to relocate and rename the Permaculture Research Institute to The Channon. Geoff and Mollison taught permaculture courses together, and I cannot recommend Geoff Lawson as a teacher highly enough.

Permaculture Education Institute, founded by another Permaculture elder, Morag Gamble, PEI teaches permaculture design systems, how to become a permaculture teacher, and start a permaculture enterprise. Permaculture Education Institute
