The world’s premier motorcycle racing competition begins in Portugal at the beautiful Autodromo Internacional do Algarve on 24-26th March before the teams head to Termas de Rio Hondo, Argentina (31st March-2nd April) and then to Austin, Texas, for the Americas GP on 14-16th April, 2023.
It’s back to Jerez in Spain on 28-30th April as the European leg begins, then Le Mans for the French GP 12-14th May and the 1000th Grand Prix before the teams return to Mugello in Italy (9-11th June), the Sachsenring in Germany (16-18 June), then Assen, Netherlands for the Dutch GP 23-25th June.
Kazakhstan will host their debut 7-9th July, becoming the 30th country to host a motorcycle Grand Prix since 1949 – and Sokol International Racetrack the 74th venue to stage a premier class motor cycle race.
The FIM MotoGP™ World Championship will return to the legendary Silverstone circuit in Britain for the first time since 2012 from the 4th to 6th of August 2023.
The Austrian GP is 18 to 20th August 2023 at Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich – Red Bull Ring -ahead of the Catalan GP at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain as the event moves to 1-3rd September.
The paddock then bids farewell to Europe in Misano, San Marino on 8-10th September to head to another new country making their MotoGP debut in 2023: India.
Buddh International Circuit’s debut will make it the 75th venue at which the premier class have raced, and India becomes the 31st country to host a motorcycle Grand Prix. The first Indian GP will be held in the National Capital Region at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The track shares its name with Gautama Buddha, as does the district the track is located in.
From there, the paddock heads to the classic Motegi circuit for the Japanese Motorcycle Grand Prix on 29th September to 1st October before a weekend free to prepare for three races back to back.
The season ends with a thriller of a triple-header: from the famed Sepang circuit in Malaysia, 10-12th November, the teams head back west, with Qatar hosting the penultimate race of the season under the floodlights at Lusail on 17-19th November when the venue welcomes MotoGP back to the Middle East.
The final race of the 2023 season is on 24-26th November at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo for the Valencia GP.
